Men of Principle Scholarship

Dear University of Denver Students,

The Alpha Zeta Colony of Beta Theta Pi would like to welcome you to Denver. During your years at this institution, you will encounter new challenges and opportunities that will help to shape your college experience and lead to future success in life.

Beta Theta Pi believes that college men should be recognized for their success, their desire to achieve, and their commitment to ethical personal conduct. In fact, for more than 172 years we have been in the business of building Men of Principle. Beta Theta Pi is a values-based organization that strives to provide its members with strong, lifelong relationships, personal development, networking opportunities, and a collegiate experience richer than any other. For many men, the Beta experience has been a catalyst for success. You have probably heard of some of them... Wal-Mart Founder Sam Walton, Nike Founder Bill Bowerman, UCLA Basketball Coach John Wooden, Baseball Great Mike Schmidt, Retail Guru Bruce Nordstrom, U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, and Former Secretary of Defense William Perry, to name but a few.

In hopes of providing these same opportunities to students at DU, Beta Theta Pi offers a scholarship totaling $500, designated by the Beta Theta Pi Foundation for non-Greek male students at the University of Denver. We seek men from all backgrounds who demonstrate devotion to academic achievement and a commitment to making both the university and community better places to live. Most importantly, we seek men who desire to develop skills that will help them become successful in college, but will also carry over to their professional and personal lives.

If you are interested in the scholarship, we encourage you to complete the application. To do so, click on the link at the bottom of this page to fill in and submit the Men of Principle Scholarship form before 9:00 PM on Friday, February 24th, 2012. By applying for the Men of Principle scholarship, you are not committing yourself to membership in Beta Theta Pi or any other organization. Rather, you are merely affirming your desire to strive for excellence.

Semifinalists for the scholarship will be notified via email no later than the evening of Sunday, February 26th, 2012. From there, the rest of the scholarship process will be explained.
