ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AWARDS
Do you know a DU alum who deserves an award for professional achievement, community service, or service to alumni? Would you like to honor a DU faculty or staff member who has shown extraordinary dedication to the
University? You can help the Alumni Association recognize outstanding members of the DU community by sending a nomination for the Alumni Association Awards presented at the Founders Day Gala.

WELCOME THE CLASS OF 2008 TO THE DU FAMILY
Attention alumni! We need your help welcoming the Class of 2008 to DU. Join us during Convocation and help with the pinning ceremony, at 5 p.m., on Sept. 6. Come back to DU for the "Crimson & Gold Rush" Homecoming & Reunion Weekend, October 22-24! REUNIONS: RECENT GRADUATES & CLASS OF 1979 – 25 th ANNIVERSARY
During Homecoming Weekend, reunions will be held for recent graduates from the Classes of 1994-2003 and the Class of 1979. PETER BARTON LACROSSE STADIUM BREAKS GROUND JULY 9th
The new five million-dollar lacrosse stadium got its start on July 9. Barton Stadium will hold approximately 2,000 spectators and replace the temporary bleachers between the lacrosse and soccer fields adjacent to the Ritchie Center.
FLOYD M. THEARD MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Floyd M. Theard Memorial Golf Tournament honors one of the all-time great basketball coaches in Pioneer history. It benefits financial aid for athletes facing medical hardships or attending DU in their fifth year or during summer session. There are several events and levels of participation available on August 23 at the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. For more information, contact Annie Hoskinson, (303) 871-2225.
FAN LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Do you know a Pioneers hockey fan who deserves to be recognized for his or her undying devotion? Nominate him or her for the Fan Lifetime Achievement Award (you may nominate yourself). The winner will receive a VIP 2004

TUITION TO INCREASE
The cost of attending DU will rise next year by 6.34 percent for full-time undergraduate students living on campus. Undergraduates will pay $34,186 for tuition, fees and room and board.
Undergraduate and graduate tuition in traditional fl at-rate quarter programs will increase 6.97 percent to $25,956. The $300 health fee and the $144 technology fee paid by undergraduates will remain unchanged. However, the mandatory undergraduate student fee that funds All Undergraduate Student Association programs, including student participation in the EcoPass program, will increase from $165 to $210. Room and board rates for students choosing the most expensive meal plan and double-occupancy rooms in Johnson-McFarlane or Centennial halls will rise by 4.15 percent to $7,576.
Graduate student fees (a $15 student fee and a $144 technology fee) will remain unchanged.
NEW VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ENROLLMENT APPOINTED
Thomas Willoughby has been appointed as vice chancellor for enrollment. Willoughby currently is the vice president of admission and financial aid at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. At Drake, he directed and coordinated all undergraduate and graduate admission and financial aid operations, helping to increase undergraduate applications by 30 percent in the last two years. Willoughby holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Dubuque and a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Loras College.
A 25-year veteran of enrollment management in private higher education, Willoughby will lead DU's Office of Admission and the University's comprehensive enrollment management program for recruiting undergraduate students. Todd Rinehart is continuing as DU's interim vice chancellor for enrollment until Willoughby begins on July 1.
DANIELS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS INTERIM DEAN NAMED
Prof. Glyn Hanbery has been named interim dean of the Daniels College of Business, effective September 1 st. Hanbery has served as associate dean of academic programs at Daniels since July 1994 and previously served as director of the School of Accountancy. This is his second appointment as interim dean of the College, having also held the position prior to the current dean's hiring. Hanbery will work closely with Dean Jim Griesemer over the next two months to ensure a smooth leadership transition. A national search for a permanent dean is under way, and a new dean is expected to be in place in 2005.
